They say that any success can bring beauty, well the 2004 Williams was always going to be on a loser, Dubbed “the walrus” for how the front wing was attached to the car. It wasn’t the most successful Williams ever made coming in forth in the Constructors’ Championship, and the following year BMW left Williams and Formula 1.

With such a unique design by todays standards i felt that this model was to good to miss out on and by mid way through 2005 I added the car to my collection

alain-prost-1993-williams-renault.jpgWith the announcement of Prost to join Williams for 1993 Nigel Mansell duly left for the states leaving Prost to romp home in dominant style, although race of the year does go to Ayrton Senna wonderful achievement at Donnington Park.

I got lucky with this model as it came in a set with Nigel Mansells 1992 Championship winning car

Who could forget mansell’s only winning season nine out of sixteen wins, with five wins from the first five races and eight wins from ten, there was no doubt who was going to win that season.

Coming of the back of a poor year with BAR, Jenson and Honda were trying to get back to there more successful 2004 campaign, with his first win in Hungry 2006 was a better year for Button, meaning this model was a must have for my or anybodys collection, as this was a Christmas present my thanks goes out to my brother who bought it for me.
